Copyright Policy

Velocer (velocer.io and the Velocer apps) · Effective October 12, 2026

Draft for review. The designated agent below must match the registration at dmca.copyright.gov before this page goes live.

Respecting copyright

Users can upload documents, write cards and share decks on Velocer. They may only add material they have the right to use. We respond to notices of claimed infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws, and we close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Reporting an infringement

If you believe content on Velocer infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
  3. identification of the material you want removed, with enough detail to find it (for example the shared deck's name and the card text);
  4. your name, address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Designated agent: [Name], [postal address], harrison.gabel@gmail.com [switch to copyright@velocer.io or support@velocer.io once the mailbox exists].

When we receive a complete notice we remove or hide the material promptly and tell the user who posted it.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send the designated agent a counter-notice with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal;
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the United States, [the District of the agent's address]) and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We forward counter-notices to the original complainant. If they do not tell us within 14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

We keep a record of notices. An account that receives repeated valid notices loses the ability to share decks, and in serious or repeated cases is closed.

Misuse of this process

Knowingly sending a false notice or counter-notice can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). If you are unsure whether a use is infringing, consider getting legal advice before sending a notice.
