Terms of Service

Velocer (velocer.io, app.aethed.com, and the iOS, Android and desktop apps) · Effective October 12, 2026

Draft for review. Items in [brackets] are for the operator and counsel to confirm before publication.

1. The service

Velocer is a study app: flashcard decks for languages, computer science and other subjects, spaced-repetition scheduling, progress that syncs between your devices, and tools to make, import and share your own decks. It is operated by [Aethed / operator legal name], referred to below as "we".

2. Your account

You sign in with your email address and a code we send you, or a password you set. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password private. You must be at least 13 years old to use Velocer. One person, one account; do not share accounts or sell access.

3. Your content

Cards, decks and documents you add to Velocer stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them, show them back to you on your devices, generate cards from documents you upload, and, if you choose to share a deck, show it to other users. You can delete your content or your whole account at any time from the Account screen; deletion is immediate and backups expire within 30 days.

Only upload what you have the right to use. Do not upload or share material that infringes someone's copyright, is unlawful, or contains other people's private information. Shared decks are visible to every signed-in user and carry a report button; we may hide a shared deck that is reported, and repeat infringers lose the ability to share. Our copyright process is described on the copyright page.

4. Our content

The stock decks, recordings, artwork, scenes and software are ours or licensed to us. You may use them inside Velocer for your own study. You may not copy, scrape, resell or redistribute them, or use automated tools to download them in bulk.

5. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break into the service, overload it, bypass rate limits, impersonate others, or use Velocer to send unsolicited messages. We may suspend or close an account that does.

6. Paid plans

Velocer is free today. If paid plans are introduced, their price, billing period and cancellation terms will be shown before you buy, and purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by their terms and refund rules as well.

7. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep Velocer up and your progress safe, but we provide it "as is", without warranties, and we may change or discontinue features. Export your data at any time from the Account screen. If we ever shut the service down we will give at least 30 days' notice by email.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or [US $50] if you paid nothing.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using Velocer and delete your account at any time. We can end or suspend your access if you break these terms. Sections 3, 4, 9 and 11 survive.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [State / country], and any dispute will be brought in the courts of [venue], unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell signed-in users in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Using Velocer after that means you accept the new terms.
