Flashcards (app.aethed.com, iOS, Android and desktop apps) · Effective October 10, 2026
What Flashcards is
Flashcards is a study app for languages and other subjects. You sign in with your email address and your study progress syncs between your devices.
What we collect
- Email address, used to send you a sign-in code and to identify your account. There are no passwords.
- Study progress: which cards you reviewed, when, and how you rated them, plus your settings. This is what sync is.
- Device sessions: a name for each signed-in device (for example "iPhone") so you can review and sign out of them.
- Server logs: IP address and request time, kept briefly for security and rate limiting.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How it is used and shared
Your data is used only to run the app: signing you in, syncing progress and keeping the service safe. It is not sold and not shared with anyone, except the providers that run it for us: our servers are hosted by Vultr (United States) and sign-in emails are delivered by Resend. Payment, if you subscribe, is handled by Apple or Google; we never see card numbers.
Your choices
- Export everything we hold about you from the app's account menu or by emailing us.
- Delete your account at any time from the account menu ("Delete account"). Your email, progress and sessions are erased immediately. Backups expire within 30 days.
- Sign out of any device from the sessions list.
Children
Flashcards is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
